Will Getting Married Change Your Premiums?

As people age, they start looking for someone to settle down with. There are many benefits to marriage. One is having a lifelong partner to love and cherish. Another is that your car insurance premiums will most likely be reduced. Read on to discover how getting married can help lower your car insurance premiums
.

1.       1. Multiple car discount. When you and your significant other are living under separate roofs, your cars are probably each registered under separate policies. But when you get married, each of your cars can be registered under the same policy. This usually helps the price of your premium to go down, because insurance companies assume you will drive less when you live together than when you live separately.

2.       2. ddress change. It is likely that when you get married, either you, your spouse, or both of you will change addresses. Changing your address is good because it helps to lower your car insurance premiums. Your car insurance premiums lower when you change your address because usually with a change of address there is a lower likelihood of you filing claims because of vandalism, theft, or accidents. Certain zip codes also have a lower rate of claims filed, so you may just be in luck depending on the zip code you end up moving to.

3.       3. Consolidating insurance policies. If you decide to get your car, home, and life insurance with the same provider, they will most likely give you a discount on at least one of these policies.

Marriage can be tough, but it is also a fun and enjoyable experience. It can also help you receive lower premiums on your insurance.
